A quick update

Who knew 2 hours of commuting each day + a full time job = no leisure time?? Getting into the work routine has been a bit of a shock to the system, especially with the days getting shorter and the loooong commute. Fortunately the job is interesting, the day goes by fast and making money again is quite nice. Unfortunately it leaves very little time for fun stuff like blogging, exercising, cooking or watching TV.
Hence, the very sporadic updates … but there’s been quite a bit going on in our lives over the past couple of weeks, so here’s a summary.
We met some people from inside the computer last week, in the flesh - Matt and Oana came over for a friendly game or two of Settlers of Catan. It was great finally meeting them, after reading their blogs for several years.
Our house continues to be a mess because of ongoing renovations, so we haven’t had time or energy to host a housewarming yet. Instead, we’ve tried to have people over for dinner and/or games, two at a time, once or twice a week.
We took part in a very fun Amazing Race style day, as a stag/stagette for Martha & Tom. We then went to their wedding - what a gorgeous couple and what a fantastic wedding!
The large quantities of white wine consumed resulted in the evening looking something like this:
Getting there involved my first BC Ferries trip in over a year, so that was nice. Strathcona Park (the wedding location) was beautiful and I loved our cabin mates (particularly the under 3 ones!).
What else … those are the highlights, I think! Just in case it seems like we’re not busy enough, our lives will get even more complicated in about 10 days, when we get to meet the newest member of our household - a 13 week old black Lab/Poodle girl puppy we are adopting! Can’t wait! Here’s a couple of photos of her (taken by the breeder):
