Replacement m250 arrived.

My replacement Sandisk Sansa m250 has arrived. I filled out the return forms at amazon on Wednesday for a replacement – due to the last one suffering from the common defect – and 3 days later my replacement is here! I am quite happy with the amazon customer service I really like that they just send you the new one without even having received the defective one first. I’ve already sent the defective one back but they give you a month to send it back and they cover the postage to send the defective one back and to send you the replacement!
The firmware was again 4.0.44E but this time I decided to take no chances and upgrade that to start. The newest version appears to be 4.1.07E, hopefully it will prevent the player from becoming unresponsive and frozen! We’ll see, I am really not sure what unusual use case I could have used to get it into that state last time. I did have it play until the battery ran out but I think most people probably wait till the battery runs out before replacing it. The player did forget where it had played to and probably defaulted to where it was when I had last shut it off but was still working after that. Some of the forums talked about a zero byte file being created and corrupting the filesystem but I think that was generally taking place when loading songs onto the player and I hadn’t loaded anything on or connected to a computer since I initially loaded up my songs.
I’ll keep my fingers crossed, hopefully I don’t have to send this one back and get a refund.
