Did you know …

… that if your Nikon D50 camera battery runs out in the middle of transferring photos from the D50 to your computer, all the photos not yet uploaded will be gone? I had about 210 photos from Portugal to upload, and the battery died after uploading 7 photos! When I unplugged the camera to replace its battery, it stubbornly told me the memory card only contained the 7 photos.
… that, after a bout of frustrated crying, you will download every shareware flash recovery program you can possibly find, install and try them all, only to find that the most you can recover is either about 25% of the photos, or all their thumbnails?
… that $50 USD is beyond your price point for a registration key for the one program you do find that is able to recover your photos, but won’t let you have them until you pay?
… that, after realizing that some of the programs you installed were likely viruses, and you cannot uninstall them, you will cry some more?
… that, after watching you bemusedly for the last hour, a white knight will come to your aid with anti-virus software and a usb device recovery program, allowing you to recover all the photos and rid your computer of nasty viruses?
Bet you had no idea. Lucky me, to live with (and be engaged to!) a white knight!
