Guess who’s going there for dinner on May 11?!? El Bulli is a three Michelin star restaurant just outside of Girona in Catalunya, Spain and it is the home restaurant of Ferran Adrià , the very inventive and much-celebrated chef.
It’s supposed to be the best restaurant in the world, and it is closed for 6 months of the year while the chef experiments with new recipes. Between April and September, it is open 5 nights a week, with one seating of about 50 people each night. The reservation process is similar to a lottery, and I’ve heard they get close to 500,000 requests for about 8,000 seats each year. I emailed at 14 minutes after midnight on the day reservations opened (Oct 15) and just heard back today. Yay!!
We’re going to start saving now – I hear the 35 item tasting menu is about 160 euros each, not including drinks! Worth it, I think, for a once in a lifetime experience.
wow, i’ve heard about this place before! congrats on getting reservations
Thanks! Can’t wait =)
