Today is a good day!

First, Amazon delivered my new toy – a Motorola Razr phone, on the pay-as-you-go Vodafone network. It worked right out of the box, has lots of bells and whistles, and had enough credit that I could try out a few calls and texts. Yay! You can reach me on it at 011 44 777 099 7405.
Second, the Law school called and offered me a spot in the third course I needed. I was able to enroll in 2 of my 3 choices last week and attended the first classes yesterday, but this 3rd course was full, until someone dropped it this morning. Thank you, anonymous course dropper!
I am now taking:
- Administrative Law (9 to 11 am) – mostly concerned with judicial review of executive functions, looks to be very interesting with a charismatic prof, and hopefully will be similar enough to Canadian law
- International Private Law (2 to 4 pm) – jurisdiction over family law, contracts and property law issues in an international context (basically conflicts)
- Competition Law (4 to 6 pm) – regulation of the free market economy
… all on Thursday! Good courses, I think, and a very nice schedule! =)
Tomorrow I’m off on a “hill walk” i.e. hike to Arrochar with the Hill Walking Club (EUHWC). It leaves at the awful time of 7 am and doesn’t return until 8 or 9 pm. That should leave me a little time tomorrow night to pack for Romania, with my flight leaving at the awful time of 5:55 am on Sunday morning. Looking forward to a week with family, and to eating lots of roasted corn and drinking fresh grape juice!
