Bacchalian exploits

12 wineries visited, too many samples tasted, and 17 bottles of wine purchased = a great weekend! I wouldn’t go wine tasting again at this time of year, however. The wineries were very busy, and many had run out of wine and were closed, or were only offering a couple of wines for tasting.
We camped in Oliver overnight, and had an awesome time sitting by the campfire and sharing a bottle of wine, camping style (i.e. straight out of the bottle, since I forgot to pack glasses).
The drive back was unpleasant once we turned around past Osoyoos down Hwy 3. The forest fires made for poor visibility and terrible air quality. I don’t know how people live in towns covered in smoke and ash, or why some people choose to go camping there!
